I am also interested in 3D glasses, and am prepared to write any assembly code necessary to drive them. Wouldn't stuff like battlezone or 3D breakout be great! I could also see a version of Basic with 3D plot/drawto statements...

Likewise! I've been into stereo all my life, have done stereo in various forms on computers (including a "cross-eye"-viewable stereo drawing program right h> here on my good ol' Atari), and would *LOVE!* to have a pair of those "glasses" to mess with!
Count me another vote in favor of marketing 'em separately!
yes there were a few of the 1450 systems made. They had to exist so that pictures for advertising could be made.
Engineering also had to have some made so that developers sould start writing applications for the voice syth. One developer that actually had one was Dave Small (at least i think it was dave).

Can you advise if the files are compatible with ARC for the ST and IBM using CRUNCH? I was able to look at the ARC file which was supplied. Was this file CRUNCHED with the AlfCrunch? If so MANY thanks. One other question. Are sources available? I am working on a GIF viewer. and the GIF pics are LZ compressed. IF they are maybe I will have a go at making a GIF viewer. If anyone else has worked out a Viewer for GIF, or would like the Documentation explaining the format of GIF, please advise. Thanks.

A friend of my just bought a left over 1200xl and we too were concerned if it would work with the new supercarts....Wel we tried a few games and sure enough it worked like a charm. The only supercart we tried was Blue Max and it worked fine. The rest of the games we tried were the standard carts like Pacman etc. Hope this eases some of your concerns.
BTW anyone out there in NET LAND know if Commnet Systems the maker of Forem are still in existance?? I'm trying to purchase a version of Forem to run on the 8 bit but can't obtain a copy anywhere. I've been looking for messages on the net by Matthew Singer the author of Forem but have not seen any message from him either. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, the cartridges should work on a 1200XL.
Just to make sure there were no problems, we had someone try the three Accolade titles (Hardball, Fight Night, and Ace of Aces) on a genuine 1200XL today, and they all worked.

Speaking of Daisy-Dot II, does anyone know if there is a version for 24-pin printers? I saw enough using 9-pin emulation on my 24-pin Fujitsu printer to conclude that I would LOVE to have a version of DDII that could use the full 24-pin resolution!!! As it is, the character height is a bit off, so pagination doesn't work right, and of course the resolution isn't quite as good as the inherent resolution in the 24-pin printer's internal Letter Quality font.
Maybe what I should really be asking is if anyone has a font editor for 24-pin printers like the Fujitsu or the Epson LQ-1500/2500? The two-pass printing probably isn't really needed, as the logic of the 24-pin printers accomplishes much the same thing in one pass using the finer pin spacing instead of carriage motions.
Then again, I'm probably the only kid on my block with a 24-pin printer on a $70 computer...

An Atari 8-bit GIF viewer is on CompuServe. I haven't downloaded it yet, though. If I should happen to download it (I don't have much use for it right now), I'll try to uuencode it and post it. I'm assuming that it's public-domain, since it's in their data libraries. But then again, Antic has files in Compu$erve's data libraries and they're not PD.
Don't look for me to post it soon, though. As I said above, I don't have a use for it. Also note the substitution for 'S' in CompuServe a few lines above :-)
